A plain sheet names the cloth left off the board

At the Ocean Springs counter, a sheet that lists only the cloth taken in reads fuller than the work really is.

1. Cloth that stays and cloth taken off belong on the same page. When they are split, a reader often keeps only the first page.
2. Taking a cloth off is not the same as deleting it. The place may sit empty, but the day it left the line stays beside that place.
3. The stop date sits at the top of the sheet, not in a footnote. After that day, the sheet is an old record.
4. This site has no garment photographs. The piece does not describe an unsupplied sample as an item already for sale.
